Caring for your home water during your holidays

Going on holiday can be stressful- you’re taking the family away and thus need to make sure that each of them is organised, stocks of sun cream, antihistamines and mozzie repellent need to be replenished, not to mention shopping for the latest trends to show off on the beach and in the local bars and restaurants. One thing that needn’t be a hassle is thinking about what will become of your home water cooler whilst your away; believe it or not, there really is no need to arrange for kennels, or for the neighbour to pop in and replenish the bottle or to clean it out, oh no. If you’re only away for a week or so, there’s not even any need to let us know- if we receive no response to a reminder phone call or email, we’ll simply assume you don’t require a delivery (which will, of course, be the case as you’ll be happily sunning yourself somewhere exotic). And the best bit? When you return from your break, simply plug your cooler back in, wait half an hour and refresh yourself and your family from your ever-trusty home water cooler.

Almost as much as we love a good, sturdy home water cooler, we love challenging our brains and working on tricky tasks to expand our minds. Home water cooler chat: Tube stories

“You will not believe what I’ve just witnessed” gasped Sophie as she ran into work on Monday. “WHAT?!”, cried we, thinking already that this was definitely going to be good, and almost certainly going to make the cut for our home water cooler chat blog series. “Well”, she continued, “I was on the tube, and these two guys were running up and down the carriage with buckets, collecting for St. George’s hospital in Tooting. Oh, and they were wearing nurses uniforms. You know, the one’s you get in fancy dress shops”. Blimey, we said, that sounds like something to set you up for the week.
Not to be outdone, Dan piped up; “I got on the tube just before Christmas last year, and saw these four guys dressed as Santa. I thought they were obviously on their way to a fancy dress party, until they suddenly pulled out a load of instruments and struck up ‘Jingle Bells’. It was awesome!”.

Home water cooler chat: Pets do the funniest things

The war of the pets begins with our silliest pooch/kitty/fish, and God knows we have some silly ones for you to share with your family and friends as you gossip around your home water cooler. We hear Tom’s story first: “My cat Nick-“, sorry, we have to interrupt at this point. Nick? “Yeah, Nick. I know, silly name for a silly cat. He used to sit in the sink in the kitchen and watch the tap dripping. And try and catch the drops too…that is, if he wasn’t trying to lick them out. It was all very adorable”. Very silly indeed, we conclude.
Next?
Sophie steps up to the mark; “Another cat story, as I do think they’re the best ones”. We’ll be the judge of that Soph, just get on with it. “Righto. Well, we had this mouse in the house and Splodge (what is with these silly cat names?!) was sort of chasing it, sort of walking after it. The mouse had stopped in the middle of the floor, and she went up to it, and patted it with her paw. It walked off. Yes, walked. And casually climbed the curtain. Splodge stood underneath, just sort of watching it, waiting for it to come down. She is truly too soft for her own good”.

Home water cooler chat: How to get famous quick-sharp

Something that we often ponder around our home water cooler is the mystical, magical, and down-right weird ways in which we think we might be able to blag a place on the celebrity A list. Having spent many hours discussing and condensing our list of the best ideas, this is what we’ve come up with. (N.B. These methods have not actually been tested as of yet, so we cannot guarantee their success).
1) Invent something really excellent. We’re sort of thinking about some of contraption/robot that pours a drink from your home water cooler and delivers it to you, wherever you might be, so you don’t have to lift a finger.
2) Read “This is Your Life” by John O’Farrell, and basically copy. It all seems so easy.
3) Marry someone famous, and thus be catapulted into the limelight by default. Current eligible famous bachelors/bachelorettes include Jude Law (we think, who really knows), Britney Spears (again, we think) and David Mitchell (you’d never have a dull moment).
4) Get in touch with us, tell us something awesome, get written about in our blog, and sit back and wait for the fan mail to roll in.

We have devised a way to keep in touch and updated with your water levels so that we can ensure you don’t find yourself high and dry (hoho). We can set up an automated weekly email, so that we pop you a little note two working days prior to your delivery day (this will be established when you set up a contract with us), or indeed give you a call to see if you’d like a delivery that week. Easy as pie, and leaves you nothing to worry about, as we’ll do all the remembering. If you’d rather just get in touch once your water bottle supplies are a little lower, we have a handy form to fill in on our website, which, once completed, gets sent directly to one of our team who will promptly get in touch to let you know when we’ll be with you. One of our lovely engineers will come round, carry the bottles to wherever you need him to, and maybe even stay for a cup of tea and a chat if you so desire.

Water cooler sales rocket throughout Europe

New figures show that throughout 2008, more than 125, 000 new home water coolers, pumps and dispensers were installed in residential and business addresses throughout Eastern Europe, bringing the total of products in use to 1.65 million (figures from Zenith International). Some find the fact that the biggest boom has come from the water dispensers, rather than bottled coolers, and the POU (Point of Use) machines are yet to make a real dent in the Eastern European market. Russia’s top of the league table, guzzling down more water than anyone from the masses of coolers that make up 40% of the entire regional market. Others aren’t too far behind though, with Serbia and Romania’s maturing markets grabbing onto their share of ownership, a percentage that is continuously growing at a steady rate. Zenith predict that by 2013, just over two million coolers and other such products will be in use. Water cooler leak damages Governor’s office

The House Democratic Office in Springfield, Illinois, this holiday weekend (December 28th 2009) suffered some damage to their carpets after one of their water coolers sprung a leak. One of the plastic bolts holding the cooler together came loose, thus allowing around fifty gallons of water to pour out into the surrounding carpeted area. As the staff were on holiday leave, no one was around to witness the “explosion”, allowing more time for the water to spread. The company who lease the coolers to the office, Watts Pure Water Technologies, agreed to examine all their coolers and replace the faulty bolts in other machines, if necessary.
